Car drives perfectly when it is idled then when it is cut off then you go to crank it, it idles down and cuts off when it is put in gear. Can you Please help me?

Hi polarbear! Here's an engine performance troubleshooting guide to help you nail down some of the possibilities. It sounds like a furl chain issue based on what you have given me, but someone would need to see the actual manner in which is "cuts off" to get a better idea of what's going on. I have an 88 Nissan Stanza Wagon which has been leaking power steering fluid. My mechanic, who has been excellent in the past, replaced the rack and pinion three times, and it still leaks more than ever. He has only changed me once, and he felt sure that the parts were defective. After the third time I don't have the heart to take the car back to him.
