Can you bypass ac on 96 Nissan 200sx  with a
shorter belt

Is the bearing on the compressor bad and as you probably know that the loosening and tightening bolt just above the compressor for that belt the compressor is an integral part but you probably could bypass it loosen the belt and bypass the compressor and if the the tensioner will work from the belt coming from the crankshaft pulley you just need to find the right sized belt. Personally I like air conditioning and the bearing is replaceable on the clutch which might be an easier solution. Hope this helps you.
