2000 nissan maxima a/c only works on the lower fan settings

I have an issue where My 2000 nissan maximas ac
only blows cold on the lower settings which is
manual.. And Its not as cold as if i put it on auto
which is the highest fan setting

probably not enough freon in the system. The slower the fan, the more concentrated the cold air is. Unless it blows noticably hot air..then thats the case

Ok.. I will check my freon levels today.. I put about half a can in it. As i was thinking i was overcharging
