2001 nissan xterra shut off at red light wont turn back on

My engine shut down while i was stopped at a red light. tried to start it again
and nothing. it cranks but wont turn over. just put a brand new battery in it 2
months ago. also it was not over heating.

Hi Robert in my case not good  it is the timing belt and since it is an interference engine it destroyed the whole engine. Hope that is not your case
