1997 ford ranger cold start problem

Asked by Alex000085 May 10, 2016 at 01:30 AM about the 1997 Ford Ranger XL Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 97 4cyl ranger. Has a problem holding a
idle and running when its cold or hasn't been
running all day. Was throwing a CEL for idle air
control valve and both o2 sensors. Replaced idle
air and didn't do anything. Any ideas if the 02
sensors would cause this?

It can also you catalytic converter could be stopped up, remove the plug on it and run your truck and it will blow out what look's like BB's cleaning it out then put the plug back in. If this fixes it replace the convertor.
