Can I put a 205/55 R16 tires in place of 205/60 R16?

Yes but they will be a bit shorter and you will have less ground clearance.

The difference in height is .8 inches. 205/55/16 is 24.9. 205/60/16 is 25.7. It' s like lowering your car by tires. Might affect the speedo a little bit. 811 revs vs. 786 revs/mile.
