Nissan Sentra 2019 vehicle information display freezing

Asked by voodoogurus Sep 05, 2019 at 03:43 PM about the 2019 Nissan Sentra S FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've noticed that every once in a while the vehicle information display
between my gauges on the dash (not the touch screen in the center console)
will freeze. Sometimes it's when I'm switching between bluetooth and the
ipod function like when I decide to plug my phone in while driving, or it
happens after a phone call. The audio buttons on the left side of the steering
wheel also go out. The clock stays at what time it was when it froze at the
top left of the display and the temperature doesn't change. Has anyone
experienced this? The only fix that I've found is to shut the car off and turn it
back on.

The radio software is a lemon. I had this problem when I bought my car around October 2018. My car is a 2019 Nissan Sentra S. I was told by the service manager on March 3, there is a software update. The dealership updated the radio software. So far I am not having problems.

This has happened to me on my 2020 Sentra. Under warranty, so dealer is replacing entire unit. Turning car off/on did not help, but a hard reset by removing negative battery terminal for 5 minuues DID work!
