Why won’t my car start after being driven for 20 minutes?

Asked by Mase4800 Jun 17, 2020 at 10:34 PM about the 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car starts right up when cold, after I drive
for 20 minutes, turn it off and go in the store
or wherever and come back out, won’t start
up for 5 minutes. No crank or anything. After I
wait about 5 minutes, it’s starts but won’t run
good for a few. Low idles.

This could be a case of vapor lock or gas tank decompression. Check the gas tank fill lid and make sure there is no rust or debris or even a damaged seal. If the lid is bad replacing it may help. Best of luck
