i drive a mitsubishi mirage 1997 saloon car. my problem is that when the engine gets hot, it begins to backfire with a "poo-poo" sound after which the engine slows down to a stop. 3 Answers

the engine comes back to normal speed when it is restarted but it begins to make a loud noise ""poo-poo"" then it slows down to a stop. please what could be the problem?
