Asked by Duane May 24, 2017 at 01:26 AM about the 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 99 Mitsubishi Mirage has a 1.8/4
cylinder manual 5 speed with over 200,000
miles on it died while driving and won't start
back. The starter, alternator, battery,fuses,
relay fuses and fuel pump are good and all
belts are in place. What could my problem
be??

Check to see if it has spark, if not then there is a problem with the ignition system.

several items are due checkout, plug wires, coil, check the plugs for fouling etc. also if the engine spins freely when started, but has no start, could be compression issues caused by a slightly warped head, worn out rings and the like..Fuel delivery could be a problem too..fuel filter could be an issue. I'd check out the electrics first (easier to replace)then a fuel system check, then do a compression check if the electrics/fuel are good.

I have a 98 Mitsubishi Mirage that will crank but will not start up because it's not getting gas to the engine why
