Mitsubishi eclipse front light caught fire

Asked by James Jul 26, 2018 at 09:25 PM about the 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

Question type: General

I have 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse GT. Today I was at
work and people ran in to tell me my car was on
fire. The lights were on but doors were shut and
they said when they went to turn my lights off it
was already in the off position..... How does that
happen?! Has anyone ever had this happen?

Same thign happened to me ; I bought a 2005 eclipse and within the first battery change, my lights started to smoke even when the car was off ! I had to bust them out

Ya man did a little more investing. Electrical issue with the AC. My AC doesnt work but I had it on just to get some air. When I turned my car off I left it on. Which cause electrical issue and fire around the lights. I know that sounds wierd but talked to a mechanic and that the first thing he asked when I told him.

It makes sense cause we're the lighting wiring harness is there is a plug going to the AC. Lighting harness and AC plug is in the same bundle of wire. Dam that sucks.
