Engine swap

Asked by Demi Sep 05, 2018 at 11:34 PM about the 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Sedan RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis Ls with a 5.0 302
sitting in it. I want to put a blown v8 in it. Something to make
it a sleeper. Despite many Google searches I am having a
hard time finding out what will fit into it in regards to a motor
swap and tranny swap. Anyone got any advice?

Just about anything can be made to fit, but it will cost boatloads of money. A 5.0 with forced induction can make lots of horsepower and the AOD transmission can be built to be very strong. Why not mod something that you know will fit in the car. Also a Grand Marquis is a very heavy car to ever be quick without lots of HP.
