cj5 carburator carter bbd engine won't idle

Tune it up and make sure the timing is correct but you may need to adjust or rebuild the carb.

Could be air leak at butterfly rod. Spray carb cleaner on the rod it to see if Jeep idles ok. If that is it you need to install a rebuilt carb or have the old carb drilled and install bushings. The rod wears out the pot metal over the years.
