Idle is all over the place, runs extremely rough, wont stay running, no power steering

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently replaced power steering pump & all belts on that side of the motor.
A week later i was sitting at an idle and suddenly, the idle is all over the place.
I shut it down & let it cool off.  Upon restarting it, and yes, it would restart, the
idle all over, even to the point of stalling out.  Driving it is almost impossible as
the RPMs are all over the board.  Also, no power steering again.  any ideas?

Should have the vehicle scanned for codes. I suspect a Throttle Positioning Sensor. Your power steering is affected by the way the engine is running.

I agree, TPS. Also, you might not have put the belt on correctly, if the power steering isn't working at all. You need to get the codes.
