2019 Ford Edge SE Lift gate

Asked by GuruXCVBG Apr 18, 2020 at 10:13 AM about the 2019 Ford Edge SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently have had work done on the rear lift gate of my 2019 Ford Edge SE.
Unfortunately now my gate is latched but did not latch tight.  The switch does
not work and I cannot find the way to open from the inside.  This is not a
power lift gate, but the latch is powered.  Thinking maybe a wire
disconnected.  All posts I find are for power lift gates or they are older
versions.  When I remove the inside access plate there is no lever or cable.
Only a hex screw.  How do I open this thing?

It is a 2019 and likely still under factory warranty. If so take it to the dealership and DO NOT try to repair it yourself.
