Unpaved road warning

One has read the owner's manual, and the answer is not therein contained. Anticipating your next unhelpful comment, I shall add that neither does the dealership have wisdom enough to resolve the query. However, I am happy this thread gave you, F_O_R, the opportunity to increase your post count.

Frances, the only success I've had with this is by going into the Navigation Settings and setting the volume for Voice Guidance to the lowest possible volume (turning voice guidance off doesn't work...it seems to turn itself back on). With the volume set to the lowest setting, there will be a momentary decrease in the volume of then entertainment system whenever it is making one of its "announcements", but at least you don't have to deal with the annoyance of the voice. If you need to use voice guidance for any reason, it's a simple matter to turn the voice volume back up as needed.

Same issue on the 2019 Rogue, and Nissan is clueless. they tried to direct me to TomTom, who directed me right back to Nissan. My home - paved for at least 20 years in a busy residential neighborhood - says "caution - unpaved road" every time I turn onto my street! Again, Nissan is worthless in trying to resolve it - i consider it a warranty issue, and am going to return the vehicle for refund. Piece of junk car.

Nissan dealer told me it was designed to warn me about the unpaved road. However the roads I us everyday are all paved! They can't fix it. Very poor navigation system.

CAUTION UNPAVED ROAD ... is the most annoying part of driving my 2018 Nissan Rogue. They promised me at the dealership that it could be turned off. I hear it a minimum of eight times a day. Sometimes I can barely hear it other times it comes through so loud it almost makes me go off the road. Of course Nissan headquarters, dealerships, no one knows how to turn this off! ONE MORE YEAR ON MY LEASE AND RHIS CAR GOES DOWN THE UNPAVED ROAD!!!

Nissan won't fix it because dealer says the Nissan designed it that way!

Attempt to update the map version over personal wifi. go to connections on menu screen. select your wifi and connect to it. go to info and select software version. you will see map update. select this and select regions you would like to update. update may take several hours and vehicle must remain on and within range of wifi signal. i have a customer with a 2019 murano having this same issue. i am currently in the process of updating his maps to see if this issue is corrected. will post outcome after update is complete.

I just bought a 2020 Marano and I live off of the toll Booth Road so every half a mile it tells me that there is a tollbooth there. And no one knows how to make it stop it is seriously the most annoying thing about this brand new car

OK I think I may have found the answer if you go and click on the screen itself and go to settings and navigation and less you choose the voice commands and factory defaults to every command been told but you can change that mine had four different options to turn off so I turned them all off and it does not tell me anything anymore. Hopefully that helps in someway!

Go to Settings > Navigation > Guidance Settings > Turn off Guidance Voice. So long as you don’t use the gps built into the car this will never impact you negatively. We never use it because the maps are outdated and it takes forever to set up routes. Our phones are a much better option and more accurate/reliable.

I did as Amy and Singwithmylife instructed. I went into settings and found voice commands. I selected every option to turn the voice off and it works. I’ll try to upload my pics for visual reference.

Infiniti an Nissan aren't listening! My 2021 qx50 let's me know everytime I leave my driveway and get within a mile if home. I know it's not paved; I've lived there for 30 years. Some times I get the warning while driving on perfectly paved roads. The warning is very loud. Please make a fix for this!!!

My 2021 Pro 4X does the same thing, i live on an unpaved road and hear this every time I drive may car! NISSAN LISTAN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS update the software and give us the ability to turn features on and off!
