Won't start at all

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife has a BMW 328i. The check engine light came on
the dash along with a yellow exclamation point (!) on the
digital screen. She inserts the keyfob and tries to start the
car but nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated.

She said she tried to jump start the car But still does not start. I'm in North Carolina and she is in Texas some having a go by what she says in messages. Thank you for any help you can give.
