POA80 replace hybrid batter on a 2011 Toyota prius

Have a 2011 Toyota prius with a POA80 code replace hybrid battery, tried to
clean it multiple times, then it would not let me clear. So I replaced Hybrid
battery was told to drive the car for a 100 miles and car would reset. I then
put the scanner and got the same code POA80, I tried to clear it and would
come back immediately. It said permanent on scanner. but also said that
there is nothing on car. also no warning lights on car. I just wanted to see if
the code was cleared. So since that did not work with the scanner, I decided
to go to Autozone and use there scanner. I had the same problem. I noticed
that I am getting lower gas mileage than before can anyone help me erase
that hard code on the care

What battery did you replace it with? In a Gen 3 Prius most codes are permanently saved in the computer. The only way to delete it is to flash the computer. Having that code in memory should not effect the way the car drives.

It was a gen3 Prius that the battery was replaced. How do I flash the computer. Also why is my mileage not as great as it should be. I average like 41mpg and this car in web sight says it should get about 48mpg average. I got the car that had the solar roof.

The roof is only used to keep the car venting on a hot day. Did you put in a new battery or refurbished? Also, did you ever drive the car before you replaced the battery?

This guy has put on a battery for my 2005 2ng generation Prius that battery lights lid up after 6 month and he replaced it with no problem. That battery had a 1 year warranty. He replaces hybrid battery for a live he has being doing it for a while. As far as this car my 2011 3rd generation. He replaced that battery from a newer model Prius with solar roof that Prius looked like a station wagon type Prius I asked if the battey was the same the guy told me yes. I saw him take that battery out from that car and put it into mine that car he said had 60 thousand miles on it. That car was driven there it had minor damage from the front of the car. My Prius with old battery used to get about 43mpg. With this one I get about 41 mpg. The guy told me to drive it home and code would reset for the POA80 so when I drove it for 100 miles to reset the code I call him and he looked it up and said that for this car it is a hard code. But back to the mpg is there something I can do. I am not getting no codes on dash. I guess the battery is good but I just wonder about the mpg. When he put that battery my consumption. Read 51mpg. And as I drove it when to 48mpg then drove some more a few miles to 45 mpg then a few miles to 43 mpg and then a few more miles where it is staying atv41mpg average sucks mpg. But I guess I was getting 43mpg. I just don't know. But I am not getting dash lights going on. What do you thin about mpg

He installed the battery from a Prius V, which is the same as in your car. The average consumption for Prius V is about 43mpg. How many miles is on your car?

If you haven't done so yet, you probably need to change your EGR Valve and clean the egr cooler line. That can effect your mpg.

I have a 2012 Toyota Prius and got the code poa80. Was diagnosed by the toyota dealership at 170k miles few weeks ago and they said that the hybrid battery pack needs to be replaced. So i found a reputable hybrid battery shop that i have used previously as well for 2 of my other priuses before and worked great. This time i got the battery pack replaced and the codes were cleared via obd2 scanner. Car has been driving perfectly fine after the battery change “well it drive even fine with the bad battery pack”. The mpg has been decent at 40.5 to 43 depending on a/c usage. So here is the problem i took the car into a california smog inspection place and they failed the car for poa80 “permanent code”. I went and through a few connections used a big “snap on scanner for professionals” the scanner read no current, no pending, no permanent codes and all monitors were completed for smog. Took it back to the hybrid battery shop he hooked u his “hybrid battery scanner” and determined and showed me while he hooked it up that the car has 2 ECU “1 main ECU” “2 hybrid ”

I have a 2010 prius and have replaced the weaker cells though it didn't give me a check hybrid in the recent past but did not pass smog due to the hybrid battery. It has a permanent code and even after replacing the weaker cells and driving it well over 200 miles in about 3 weeks span, the permanent P0A080 is still there. How can I clear it so I can be able to pass the smog. Anyone ?

Following...Exact same issue in California. Cant pass SMOG.

The time to complete 15 warm-up cycles and drive 200 miles is reasonable for vehicles to complete the self-diagnostic tests. In fact, most vehicles will complete the self-diagnostic tests well before this maximum limit is reached. The 15/200 limit is being established to prevent undue inconvenience to motorists who are trying to comply with the Smog Check Program requirements but are having trouble getting specific monitors to run to completion and ready for testing. 11. What is a warm-up cycle? A warm-up cycle means driving a vehicle so that the engine coolant temperature rises by at least 40 degrees Fahrenheit after the engine is started and reaches at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit. My PDTC is not clear but I passed smog after completing 200 miles and 15 cold starts, while not triggering any engine lights.

So eventually it should clear if no new code appears?
