  When i turn knob on dash to engage 4x4 hi, it works fine. When i turn knob on dash to engage 4x4 low, it stays in 4x4 hi range and the the light on dash continues to indicate hi range

put your foot on the brake and shift the transmission into "N". Shift the transfer case to low and wait for the light to illuminate. When the light illuminates shift back to 'D' or 'R'. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE LOW 4X4 ON A DRY SURFACE YOU WILL BE REPLACING ALL DRIVE-TRAIN COMPONATES.
