Rear Ended in Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Asked by Rhodychiphi Dec 20, 2019 at 08:45 PM about the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was rear ended at relatively slow speeds in my Stelvio, the start/stop failure
light and engine check/malfunction indicator lights are on.  Anyone know why
that would be the case if I was rear ended ?

Vehicles today have sensors in the bumper covers and tons of electronics that even a little bump can cause an issue. You won't know exactly why until you scan the vehicle for the trouble codes and remove and look under the bumper cover for damage.

Thanks for the answer, is it safe to assume that the malfunction lights are just that malfunctioning and my car is safe to drive ? Meaning the engine is fine ?

Don't mess around with your nearly new Italian exotic car and have a qualified mechanic check it out! Not like this is a Yugo!
