I dont know, its just been acting weird. I'm afraid to drive it, I think I will just take it to a dealer. I gotta have them check it out and at least tell me what is going on with my car and then take it from there.

Yeah, go ahead and take it to a dealer but don't be surprised they tell you the airbags are bad, compressor, etc.etc. They will also tell you to fix the whole baby up would be a big whopping $3,000. That happened to me when I took my continental to the dealer. Amazing what these people would charge you. Anyways, at least go ahead and see what they tell you. Let me know because if its the same thing that happened to me, I used a company called strutmasters, they were a life saver. Anyways, let me know.

Ha! Thanks for the warning. Let's see what they tell me and I will let you know once they do. How did the company strutmasters work out for you? Do I have to take it back to the dealer?

Strutmasters is junk. They really need to improve their product and stop trolling facebook. I used their system in a mark viii that ended up riding like a ford escort with bad shocks.

Jeff it might be junk to you but it worked fine for my car. I didn't have any problems at all and it rides a little bit different but nothing that you can't survive with either. I am glad I found out about them because it was either to not have a car and see if I can sell it or just spend $3,000 or more. So if I can save other people that same headache I had, I will. All I know is that I am happy I don't have to worry about airbag suspensions anymore.

Martha were you able to find out? To tell you the thruth, I feel like Strutmasters has been a life saver. I truly do. People like Jeff has been saying it was junk but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But Martha, it has been great for me, I am so glad I was able to save a lot of money. I never ever have to deal with airbag suspensions ever again. I am glad I converted and found out about them. As far as the dealer goes, its up to you. If you have someone that knows about cars I would say go with that route. I'm pretty good with mechanical work so I was able to do it on my own. But its fairly simple, just like they claim on their website.

Hey Stewart, They told me it would be just about the same amount. Ok, yeah I deft. think I am going to give it a shot once I get my tax refund. My husband browsed through the website and he says it seems like a good idea. So I think we are going for it. I will let you know of the outcome. Thanks for your help and for the info about strutmasters, I deft. don't want to spend 3 grand on this vehicle. LoL

I bet. How bout you strutmaster employees stop posting anonymously here? Even more amazing is the prices you guys quote for the air suspension system when aftermarket air rides are available for $1600, and even allow you to manually control the suspension from inside the car.

actually theyre now $1100. about twice what I paid for the strutmasters, and a much better choice. http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Air-Suspension-Inc/Air-Suspension-Kits/Premium-Air-Suspension-Kit/582028/

they are on every thread it seems. they convince morons to buy that crap and forget to mention how it looks for resale value of a car. put one cheap replacement part in and odds are its all youve ever done. they are spamming the crap out of this site. its getting quite annoying

hey stewart I honestly appreciate all your help. Don't listen to these people, you are just trying to help. Anyways, I have been researching online some more and I am more convinced to go with strutmasters. Thank you again and have a wonderful day.

Funny names like Martha and Stewart. Only you never signed names to either. This is the most pathetic thing I've seen yet

strutmasters, stock, either way the ride on a mark 8 is going to feel different than many other cars out there, strutmasters would have to have coil over struts to fit the airstruts location. stock worked well, and soapy water is the best way to find your leak, however airstruts and compressors are expensive and sometimes hard to aquire. the t-bird/cougar line of that vintage has a strut that will work to delete the airstrut with a full size macphereson style strut, in fact the suspension design thats used in the mark 8 is a "modified macphereson" setup, either way, the description of the change in ride quality sounds like strutmasters spring rate is ill suited in handling the marks weight. so, maybe if you find a willing ear on strutmasters customer support line they might even help you pick a better spring rate to suite your road conditions. as far as for ford, i work at a dealership, and my blood flows ford blue, there parts are as high quality as any aftermarket product, bar none. dealerships can offer finite options due to the high expectations inherent in their profession. but they are your best gaurantee if you want your mark to perform like it did originally. by the way my mark 8 has 260000 miles on it and drive like new, with 120000 on a set of motorcraft airstruts. you know what ill put on again.

HERE AGAIN THIS PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED FOR A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS, REPLACE WITH COIL SPRINGS

It could be as simple as a little O Ring that is leaking near the rear air bags. Very inexpensive fix. If the Air Bags themselves exploded you would have heard it (sounds like a gun going off) Try taking it to a garage and ask them to check where the leak is coming from. No need to change to springs unless that is what you really want. The air bag suspension is a very nice ride! Fix the leak. If the air bag is defective you can replace them for roughly $125.00 also

STRUTMASTERS were the first American Co to build and design STRUTS...I would expect them to know about these things and the entire kit for the $750 and a Mercedes Mech is installing the TODAY

Replace the airbags. I did mine for $88.00 each. I got new bags online. They are as easy as a shock absorber to install. Don't get ripped off. Russell
