1930 T Bucket 472 motor Quadrajet

I just recently bought a 1930 Model A T
Bucket it has a 472 Cadillac motor with a
Quadrajet start it up runs great for a few
seconds black smoke starts coming out the
exhaust and it's hard to keep running

What, you don't have an owner's manual for this thing? I would check all the things that let the engine breath, especially check for carbon build up. EGR, PCV, breather (if so equipped), then look at timing and carb adjustment. Get idle speed just right then adjust carb, esp. power piston/valve, floats. You also have to check all possible vacuum leaks.

also want to recommend a good hotrod forum like H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com/forum/), Cargurus is very generalized, there are plenty of dedicated hotrod forums you may find more helpful.

Maybe the carburetor has a soggy float causing it to run way to rich.

I would not call that a T-bucket but it is a cool rat-rod. I think it was possibly based on a model A pickup.
