My car started up fine and drove it for about 2 blocks and when I stopped at a stop sign it shut off. It started back up but shut right off again. Now it won't start at all.

At first it sounds like a idle problem , ,when was your last tuneup & when do you last change your air & gas filters ..

Check your distributor, i had the same problem with my ford telstar before i sent the distributor for service and its fixed

I had replaced the battery and hooked it up backwards on accident (not car knowledgeable) and it fried the alternator which caused it to go down road a bot then die and jumping would let it run for a second then cut off immediately. Got new alternator works like new
