Does anyone have an idea to my issue?

Asked by Michael Sep 09, 2020 at 06:21 PM about the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Anyone have an issue with the fuel guage not reading
correctly. I can fill my car all the way up the guage will go to
3/4. And stay there. When I start driving the guage will
slowly get to full, but when I come to a stop sign the guage
will go back down. Eventually the guage will start reading
right but I think its because the gas level comes down.
Dealership has replaced the sending unit, well at least thats
what they tell me, and they say the issue doesn't happen
with them. But ready to give up. Anyone has helping words
im all ears.

the only thing i could thing of without looking at your car would be the float that connects to the fuel pump and sending unit is sticking or even bent. its not uncommon for them to stick or if the changed the sending unit and fuel pump in got bent on install.

Yeah I though about that. What about bad electrical somewhere. Bad ground or inconsistent electrical current.?
