Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought the 2004 Kia Sorento at 74k miles.  Changed the timing belt,
everything was working real good.   About 98,000 miles shifting gears from 1-
2-3 started to get difficult.   Now at 107k miles it is very hard to shift gears.
The clutch does not slip, (no burning smells, etc).  Car moves ok with the
exception of difficulty shifting (manual shifter).  Any ideas?

My local mechanic said I need a new clutch and assembly. Due to frame corrosion and other work needed I let it go in a sale for a new car.
