What causes the maniford to heat up after the car starts

I have an opel astra 97 model 1.6 and the
problem it has is whn the car starts and run
after few seconds the maniford starts to heat
up the auxos gets very hot you can cook an
egg on it so what could be the problem?

Exhaust gasses are very hot! It's normal for the exhaust manifold to be very, very hot when the engine is running. If it is hot to the point that the exhaust manifold is glowing red or orange, that's a problem. Otherwise it sounds normal. Hope that helps! Jim

Over heated ex manifold will also occur when the ignition timing is very retarded,,,,

Check your crankpully I had that problem . The indentation holding it in place most probably stripped
