If it has a 4cyl in it there isn't much you can do. Is it an automatic? How does it respond when you give it more gas?

Only thing you can do is to regear the differentials! I'm sure it's a 4cyl but all Jeeps are turds in the speed category! Unless you decide to put a v8 into it then you have a whole nother animal to deal with!!!
