Tires/wheels

Asked by Lacy020 Apr 11, 2018 at 10:34 PM about the 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE

Question type: Car Customization

I own a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. My tires and rims need
to be replaced. A friend has stock rims and p255 75
r17 tires from a 2015 Wrangler. I believe the bolt
patter is not compatible but heard mention of
spacers. Can someone elaborate further? Can I use
these tires and rims on my 1997 Wrangler? What
are the pros/cons. I would be purchasing 5 tire/rims
for $400 with about 23,000 miles on the tire. Thanks

You can buy adapters but they will also space the wheels out 1 1/4" to 1 1/2".

FOR—So will the increased space of the wheels cause performance problems, rubbing, etc? Or will it this look odd or out of proportion? Most importantly will the adaptors cause any safety issues? I drive my daughter around in my Jeep it is my everyday vehicle at the moment. Thanks so much for your time and response.
