Won't start

My 2002 jeep liberty has set for about 6 months
got a New battery and it trying to start but just
cranks

Had a new engine put in and unfortunately it set for about 6 month or so battery went bad from setting got a New battery put it on and it trying to start but it wont catch New fuel pump wondering if maybe can primer it..
