It seems like it wants to start,a little stumble every once in a while. Fuel pump can be herd. Starter fluid had no response whatsoever.has spark.starter makes ugly sound every cpl of turns, when it almost starts. Also, electrical is doing wierd things, and tranny pops out of gear occasionaly, hard to get reverse. If you got no response with starter fluid then you do not have spark at the plugs, if you have ground on it long enough that you fried a starter that it is possible that the cylinder walls have been washed by too much fuel also. So verify that you have good spark at the plugs, it should be a bright blue arch on the spark plugs, if not check the coil output, it should be able to throw an arch at least 1 inch and still be a bright blue in color if not replace the coil, if it is then replace the cap, rotor, plug wires, before replacing the plugs I would squirt a little oil into each cylinder then install new plugs, if it doesn't fire in 10 seconds it is not going to and further diagnostics need to be done, i.e. Fuel pressure and flow, exhaust system back pressures, full live data scan.

My 99 tahoe is exactly all of the same things! It's driving me crazy. Did you ever figure it out? If so what did it wind up being? I am stumped because I have replaced everything in this vehicle
