Ford Fiesta Battery Drain

Asked by GuruXCPF5 Oct 23, 2018 at 08:23 AM about the 2017 Ford Fiesta Titanium Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1 year old Ford Fiesta, mk8 I think. A couple of times I have had a flat battery after the car has not been used for 2 weeks. Checking the standby battery drain I measure 165mA after the car has been off for 30 minutes. This seems rather high, is this typical?
At a 165mA drain then the Battery would be flat after about 2 weeks

2018 Ford Fiesta Just bought a 2018 for fiesta and it’s been back at the dealer 4 times for this issue. 1st time they said it was a bad battery, 2nd time bad battery , 3rd time bad battery and said we must be doing something wrong like leaving something on in the car. ...... 4th time took it to another dealer. So far it’s still in the shop but they advised me that it’s a bad cluster on the dash and they are replacing it. (Parasitic Draw). The car battery would drain If it’s not in use for 3 days or more.

Hi, I own mk8 fiesta and I am encountering similar issue. I have to start the engine every 5-6 days and let it run for some time in order to maintain the battery at normal level. In order to check whether the battery is charged, I select the auto-start option through the computer menu. If the output message is "vehicle charging" it means that the battery is still being charged. If the output message is "normal operation" the battery is charged. The interesting part that I have noticed was the "normal operation" output message even with 7 days of engine being OFF. I then remembered that the last time I locked the car I had switched the control light knob from automatic (far right option) to the city lights only (far left option). I am going to replicate the case and check if this happens again. I have a feeling that if you let the car at automatic light option, the battery drains.

I've got a 2019 Fiesta and a warning came up saying turn ignition off or start car to save battery but had not started car as I was checking levels and just left door open for 2 minutes. Also the stop start dearly works and the Ford main did not want to look at the car
