Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi so my battery light has been flickering on and off while im driving. I went
to autozone to get my battery tested and my alternator and it all passed.
Sometimes when I start up my car the battery light stays on and then turns
off. also when i am at a red light the battery light goes on and stays on until
i start driving. and i also noticed when i lock my car my driver side license
plate light flickers but i checked my lights today and both of the license
plate lights work. any advice?

There is a problem with the voltage regulator inside the alternator. Either get the voltage regulator replaced, or purchase a new alternator. It is the voltage regulator making the light flicker and to be on.

Long as it is charging a minimum of 13.8 DCV and no more that 14.8 DCV. Who knows.

Then you are either running off of just the battery voltage, and run the battery down until you couldn't start the car, or if it starts overcharging you will burn out the computer, light bulbs, and anything electrical along with ruining the battery.

Here's a silly test- check inside the car where the fuses are, there should be a fuse to the voltage regulation- if the fuse is faulty or bad, you will get the same issues you've described earlier. try that and see if your problem goes away. Otherwise Rowefast is 100% correct.

Lose connection at battery terminal positive side. Tighten all so does not move including battery hold down.

Just had battery and alternator replaced 3 months ago on my 2010 Honda Accord. The car starts and drives fine. However, the battery light just started coming on for a few seconds then goes off. I went by Auto Zone and the battery and alternator checked out, what could causing the battery light to come on?

Lamp also doubles as oil level indicator. Check oil level. Top up if needed.
