2000 Taurus CEL was on, cutting off at stoplights; not idling
CEL came on, car cutting off at stoplights. Took to ship, he replaced a worn
out rubber hose of some sort. Left the shop, cut off again, and CEL back
on. Went next day back to shop to hear him say that now with this hose
replaced, the computer basically didn't know what to do, since it had been
running wrong for so long. He said it *might* reset itself, it has not. He says
only option now, take it to Ford dealer for them to look at computer issue.
Big $$$? Easy fix? I really need my car running.
Shop don't know what to do! Step 1. Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down.
