So it has to be a 97 without engine, but with complete vehicle I can go up to a 02?

1996 to 2001 C/K Trucks, Tahoe, Suburban, Blazer, will accept this motor, but to run it, they would have to have had the 4.3L engine in them. If they came with a V8 then you would need the computer & wiring harness for a 4.3L for these years in order to run the 1997 4.3L. You also would need the motor mounts, fan shroud, and other misc. parts to hook it up.
