Low beam not working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I neither of my front headlights are working on
low beam but the high beam works fine.

I installed brand new headlights and they also don't
work.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why?

I just bought this and as I'm not entirely car savy, where would I find the dimmer switch?

There is a ground issue with the low beam wiring harness. You have to replace the harness itself. $13 fix from autozone. But when you pull the old harness off, you can see that the negative side is charred. Can not believe Gm hasn’t recalled it yet. My Passenger side went out two weeks ago, I replaced the harness and it works fine. Drivers side just went out this week. 2011 Malibu. Excuse my greasy hands. Just finished doing an oil change.

Here what i found it on the left top side after you unbolt the two bolt that hold up the column. It melted and covered the metal with plastic so bad i had to break the plug off.

I ran a hot wire with fuse to the plug i check each one until my headlights came on but still no high beams until i find the plug and new switch
