automatic car jerking
Mazda axella (Mazda 3) 2.0L 2007 model (automatic) started jerking as I was
driving,in fact the jerking happens after the battery light flashes on and off, what
should I do?
This is a somewhat common problem on older cars, thirteen years old qualifies, and can be avoided by regular tune-ups that include proper cleaning & repairs. The leading cause for an engine sputtering & shaking is faults in the fuel system, worn out fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, dirty or defective injectors, and this can expel raw gasoline and cause misfires. leading to damage to the catalytic converter. Have the fuel system tested and repaired..... You did say that this occurs after the battery light flashes. Jerking might be caused by a bad alternator failing to produce enough electricity to run the engine, but then, I'd suspect that it wouldn't have charged the battery either and the engine would not have started.
Have your alternator checked, chances are it is going out. Have the alternator replaced.
