What is the best muffler upgrate to gain power from a 2006 honda accord v6

Asked by SBullet_V6 Jun 16, 2016 at 05:22 PM about the 2006 Honda Accord Coupe EX V6

Question type: Car Customization

I would like to gain more power from my 2006 honda accord v6 coupe, by upgrading the muffler system. I am thinking of taking the catalytic converter out, or putting headers. or changing the two mufflers to a free flow type.
For the record I already install a good cold intake, but I don't have that much money to invest, may be $400 to $600 dollars. what would you recommend.
Thanks, SBullet_V6

If you remove the catalytic converter will fail the emissions test. You can put high flow cats on it and greddy exhaust for Flowmaster exhaust with aftermarket headers but you're only looking about 3 to 8 horsepower more, unless you change out the head, and intake that's where the bigger lower is, but you are on a budget so.......

Trace, Thank you for your advice. How much could cost me to change the heads and what type of heads do you recommend? And where can I get them from?

Can I buy and install some computer chip that will boost or increase my Hp on make my 06 Honda Accord V6 quicker? Please advise brand and model No. If available.

To be honest your best bet would be to join a Honda racing group. I only build American racing cars and run a quarter-mile Mustang. So to get the proper information on the best set up I would join one of those groups. These are the people that have already tried several different things and found the correct setup to run on that type of vehicle.
