Tire size for BMW X3

Question type: Car Customization

Just bought new tires for my X3. I stayed
with oem spec for size. I still wonder if I
could've bought a bigger tire that wouldn't
negatively affect the handling?
My current tire is a 235.  
Does anyone know if a 245 or 255 would
look beefier without affecting handling?
In the old days we used to stuff the fattest
tires we could find on our rides but these
BMWs are a bit different.

Thanks Tom! I feel better about my new tires now. I wanted to get the original tires that came on this year Pirelli Scorpions but they talked me into a newer Pirelli.

My mother in law did this and her AWD system did not work after that. She had to go back to the recommended size and her AWD came back.
