2000 Ford focus- no key, the key I have turns and gets everything started, windshield wipers, head lights and charging the battery, everything else seems fine- any ideas?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought it at an auction yesterday and didnt have a key,
figured I had one so I wasn't concerned. Does it Somehow
have a chip or can tell that my key isn't the one for it?
All the lights and windows work but when I try to start it
doesnt even click, any ideas?

If the key turns in the ignition lock enough to run the accessories, I would guess it is the "right key" and would be "chipped" correctly to run the engine too. You might be lucky enough to have just a dead battery so try to jump start it. If it starts and keeps running, you have the right key.
