Ok i had bought a 2004 Hyundai tucson v6 and it had ran ok for a few months but when i bought it i noticed the engine light is on so i took it to auto zone so they can read the codes for me and they said i needed 2 O2 sensors and 1,3,and5 was misfiring. But it still ran fine ,so i said don't fix it if its not broken.lol. but ishould of fixed it because now it is running bad. It starts and everything but when you put it in gear it wants to die out and when pushing gas pedal it runs rough or comes close to dieing out . So i checked the sensor the messures the air and gas , put it on my meter like it's says on YouTube and it was fine. But really stuck on what to do ,don't have much money to go buy all kinds of parts and it doesn't fix the problem. so if there is any body out there that might know what is going on please help me figure this crap out . Short answer: The misfire can set a code for the O2 sensor when it's not really bad. Misfire at 1, 3, 5 can mean half the coil pack is misfiring. It should set a code but if it doesn't, I would still suspect the coil pack. Maybe it is just over due for a tune up.

I'm sure that you got your car fixed but just an FYI, look online for a Hyundai Tucson Forum. The folks there usually all own a Tucson. I belong to a Jeep Cherokee Forum & a Jeep Patriot Forum. I get the best help from those places. Not to knock anyone here but I always find it best to go to the places where the members own the said vehicle mentioned... Dan

My 2014 Hyundai Tucson has idled poorly since purchased new. It has been in the shop multiple times and until the visit a few weeks ago nothing was done. The throttle body was cleaned on the last visit and that has helped but it is getting back to its old self slowly. I have the car parked at my office from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day and as soon as I get in the car and make it to the first traffic light it is idling down really hard like it is about to turn off. It has also lost power when crossing intersections and skips or whatever it is doing going down the road. I don't understand why a car that was purchased in June of 2014 and is not even a year old would need the throttle body cleaned. Anyone out there experiencing these problems? The cloth seats in this car are also horrible and become stained by rain water while putting groceries in if it is raining. Thank God I purchased the warranty on the seats. Thanks! 5 Answers

ok, hello and thanks in advance for the help ... i have a Hyundai santa fe 2006, this is my story... i was out with the car and in a flash the car stop runing, and would not start again. I took it home with the help of a friend and began to try diagnose the problem because the check engine light was on... another friend came with a scanner and the code that came out of the pcm or icu told us that the problem was in the ride by wire system. I replace de system (pedal and servo unit in the intake manifold) pass the ignition switch, the check light went of... I try to start the car and the starter work fine but the car would not start! I began checking out the fuel pimp, and works fine; then I check the coil sparks and notice that in 3 easy ones to check front coils there is not spark whatsoever ... I try again to scan the car in the event that maybe another part or sensor was faulty, but the scanner says everything is fine! So, can anyone help me? Giovanni 1 Answer

I have a 2008 hyundai santa fe gls 4dr. I originally had a problem with the car starting in park, which at first i thought was the battery as it was still factory. I changed the battery and realized it was not the problem as the car elctronics worked flawless but there was not sound of turn over or clicking just nothing. I soon discovered the car would crank and run as expected when shift release was pressed and the car was put into neutral. I diagnosed it as a neutral safety switch but after driving i realized the car will shift into the park position but it is not recognized by the vehicle and the car easily rolls as if in neutral and makes a clicking sound every few inches(maybe centimeter, a very short distance). so in short my vehicle starts in neutral, rolls in park while clicking, all other gears work fine from what i can tell.
