I just recently started getting a problem with 2000 Ford Explorer with it not starting at all.

Asked by Cordell Apr 10, 2017 at 03:30 PM about the 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is no cranking and i just recently replaced the starter, alternator, and belt before this problem. And it just seems to be messing with me because I can get it to start perfectly every now and then but it may only be once or twice a day and then nothing.

Great question. The starter was replaced.....but it sounds like the starter again. The starter needs to be at Top Dead center (TDC)....if it doesn't start you can wait, as you did, until it rotates.....or take the handle of a screwdriver and tap the starter to get back to TDC sooner....as a temporary fix. That is exactly what happened to my Ford as well

Have you checked the voltage in the battery is 12+ volts? Did you clean the battery terminals? A corroded or lose connection could cause the problem.
