How much mileage can a Hyundai Tiburon reach?

Asked by Anna Apr 13, 2021 at 04:20 PM about the 2008 Hyundai Tiburon GS Sport FWD

Question type: General

I’m thinking about purchasing a 2008 Hyundai
Tiburon the mileage is at 152,000. I’ve done
some research and have noticed a lot of other
Tiburon owners say theirs have gone past
200,000 and the car is still running great with
proper maintenance of course. I’m just
looking for some second options, not too sure
what to do. Thoughts?

Do your self a huge favor and don't buy any old, high mile Hyundai or other Korean car.

Hyundai's have a high failure rate as they get old and the miles rack up. Get your self a Honda or Toyota if you want a car that has the potential (still needs good maintenance) for lasting a long time. I would not pay more than $200 for an old Hyundai as they are throw away cars.

I know someone who bought a Hyundai with similar miles and age. They spent something like 6 grand and then thousands for repairs while having endless problems. A little while later it was worth zero. Yes really.

I bought a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GS 4Cyl FWD with 152,000 miles on it a couple of months ago. Only problems I have encountered, so far, have been minor. The timing belt and water pump were replaced just prior to my purchase. I’ve had to replace the inside door handles, cause they are made of plastic, but other than that just fuses and such. It’s a fun car to drive, if you can keep from spinning the front tires. lol Mine is a manual 5 speed and I still can’t get used to the clutch. If you decide to get it, keep me posted and we can compare notes. One more thing, a keyless entry remote runs about $120.00 on EBay, so if it comes with one, don’t lose it! My car only came with (1) key and nothing more. No owners manual or any maintenance records. So it’s a plus if you can get those.

Hey BabyBluzOne shoot me an email at 1BigDog763@Gmail (don't forget the ".com" lol) I wouldn't mind sharing notes and stuff about our cars, I have owned two, and recently replaced my transmission, and timing belt, added performance headers all myself.. I currently have a 2006 SE that's got the orange crush paint I love it! Had 85k when I bought her, just over 100k now, But I definitely have some tips I can give you, and would like to hear a little from you, I also have a key fob question lol, I'm Greg by the way!
