Overheating

My car shows it's overheating but there is no lights
coming on and no smoking under hood what
would it be

Your car is overheating but has not yet self destructed. Don't wait until it does! I would check the coolant level but you may be due for a cooling system service. Hoses, flush, new coolant etc. Do you have a lot of white exhaust smoke?
