my 2013 subaru forester has an oil pressure light coming on fairly frequently. Sometimes it stays on for miles and other times it goes off quickly. The dealer replaced the sensor but it still happens. Oil level is fine and the car runs fine. What is going on?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A couple weeks ago (about three weeks after the oil was changed) the oil
pressure warning light began flickering from time to time.  I took it to
Subaru dealer.  The oil level was fine.  Subaru  mechanics replaced the
sensor.  Now the warning light comes on fully and stays on for several
miles or other times comes on and goes off soon.  The mechanics seem
perplexed.  What is going on?

All you have to do is check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to see whats going on, they should have done this at the garage.

Wondering if you ever found the cause for the Oil Pressure light on the 2013 Forester? Mine is doing the same thing and the Subaru guys don't know what it is. They replaced the sensor but it still does it.

I have the same issue with my 2023 Forester. On 3rd sensor and lights on full (started as a flicker). I checked at Subaru dealership and 2 shops. Pressure is ok, but light keeps coming on.
