Battery Draining in Volkswagon Tiguan

When I take my son to his music lesson, I like to sit in my vehicle and read
(takes about 35 minutes).  I always make sure that the ignition is off (no
radio, no air, no lights).  Up until 2 weeks ago this presented no problem.  
But starting 2 weeks ago, i have had to have the vehicle jumped off each
time because the battery was dead after sitting in the vehicle for 35 minutes.  
I have no idea what drained the battery!  Is it because I am sitting in it, or
because the key FOB is in it?  Why would it start happening after a period of
time?  (There have been no other issues with the battery.)

Your battery is probably 4 years old which is about as long as most batteries last. Colder weather makes batteries lose energy so I think it is time for a new battery. Make sure you use a code saver when changing the battery.

If you can start at home, after overnight sit, the battery is ok....and there is some drain you must be causing when sitting in it for 35 min...

My mother in law has 2017 tiguan battery just quit 3 years old was driven couple hours later cars dead stock battery is garbage have 13 year old costco battery in my truck works great buy good battery
