Buying a 35 year old vehicle to be used as a daily driver is not recommended. You want something a little more reliable IMO. But if you want to learn to work on a vehicle, the Monte is good canidate as you will always be replacing something on it. A good 4 door sedan with a maintenance history in the 2000's is a better bet.

These are popular cars for certain street scenes and cruise ins, but definitely not a good 'first car' daily driver. Find a used Honda or Toyota sedan, the lower the mileage the better.

If you are a good mechanic and like working on cars and don't have to drive long distances to work it could be acceptable transportation.

Monte Carlo
