how do you know the backup lights don't work if the car is locked in park? if it is the brakelights your brakelight switch above the petal along the shaft is bad wich would be y its locked in park or try turning the steering wheel either right or left if not

There’s a switch next to the break pedal that needs to be replaced. I had the same problem with my 2003 Honda Odyzzey. I was able to get it out of park by inserting the van key in a slot between the steering wheel and the dashboard.(pushing down on the key/pull leaver to neutral) then turn van engine on.
