Unable to get key out of ignition. Subaru Outback 2016

Asked by GuruT1LN6 Jul 04, 2018 at 01:20 AM about the 2016 Subaru Outback 2.5i

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can’t get my key out of the ignition unless I move the
wheel back and forth like someone mentioned in a quick
internet search. Don’t know what is going on. I just had
my bumper repaired due to someone hitting me. I’m
worried about getting stuck. I’ve only owned the carvsince
February 2016. Already out of warranty because of cross-
country driving. Any advice?

I actually took it into Subaru - mine was out of warranty as well but only a few years out. They fixed it as a goodwill effort but it should never have occurred in the first place!

I am jealous! This is the 2nd time my car has been there for 2 different reasons. It is currently at the Subaru dealership now and was informed that they are covering some of the expense, but it will still be $300.00 to analyze and install part. Love how Subaru works with you on keeping the costs down. Lol

Okay you’re saying two different car companies. One time you said Subaru and now you’re saying Toyota

I have. Have been having problem getting my key out of the ignition from my Suburu 2014. I took the car to the Glendale Suburu dealer and won’t even look at it without me paying the inspection fee of $175
