Does anyone know how I can retrieve the key code for my 2016 F150?  The dealer sold it to me without the card and now wants to charge me to retrieve it.

They sold you a 2016 and want to charge you to retrieve the code? I would go find the owner or the manager of the dealership and have a heart to heart discussion. I might even end up standing on his desk yelling at him. There was a procedure for getting the code on earlier vehicles, I'll see if I can find it.

Try this, it works on 2013s, it might work for your 2016. Note this requires using both keys.....Put 1st key in ignition, turn on, turn off and remove, insert 2nd key, turn on and key code shows on dash info display.

It is not necessary to start the vehicle when doing this. If you have keyless start then of course this won't work.

There going want $100 to retrieve it from the EECVII computer. unless you take a AR with you! I haven't confirmed 2016s yet, but it's always on the bottom of the BCM unit pull it and you'll see the code on a sticker.

I agree with Tom, you just bought the truck so some good will should be shown by the dealership. Have you discussed this with your salesman??

Look at the interior fuse panel It may have a sticker with a number like 12345g on it. if so then try the 5 digit number on the sticker. Ford has been putting the factory door code on most of them the past couple of years.

Yes , Confimed the procedure with the two keys on the F-150 2016 to get the OEM code keypad from factory. I recomend when due it, keep the doors closed to avoid that warning announce.

I was told find code in owner manuals or behind door panel ( need to remove inside panel). Also told dealers can get it using the VIN.

from Ford.com: With Intelligent Access Keys You will need to have two programmed intelligent access keys for this procedure. To display the factory-set code in the information display: Place the first programmed key in the backup slot inside the center console. The key ring must be at the top with the buttons facing toward the rear. If there is no backup slot, place the key underneath the rubber covering at the bottom of the cup holder. Press the START/STOP button once and wait a few seconds. Press the START/STOP button again and remove the key. Insert the second programmed key into the backup slot, then press the START/STOP button. The factory-set code will appear in the information display for a few seconds. It may not display until after other warning messages have displayed first.

The back up slot method worked on my 2015 Platinum FX4 SuperCrew. But my back up slot is in the compartment in front of the shifter in the console under the rubber pad bottom. Thanks!

I'm not sure where you bought yours. 2011used. I bought three years ago. I went to my local dealership a year after and proved I was the owner and they figured it out for me and no charge, wrote it on the maintaince Managers card and didn't charge me anything!

I've got a 2016 F150 Lariat. The 2 key fob method works but if you don't have 2 key fobs, the key code is located behind the passenger side front trim panel, on the back of the electronic box. You'll have to pull put the floorboard trim, pull back the weather stripping and then pop the tabs on the trim piece and move it out of the way. The key code should be visible on the sticker on the back of the electronic box. - Good luck.

I've got a 2016 F 150 FX4 and I followed above instructions and located the factory code. I bought a truck with only one factory key so I had to search for door code. carefully took apart floorboard, weather stripping and finally the trim and I was able to read the code. Thank You
