I have a 2016 Ford Escape titanium. It came with 19”  wheels and tires. I want
to drop to an 18” wheel an tire. I called the ford place they said I can’t change
without changing the breaking system which is an additional 5000.00$ . Is that
true? Thks jek

I think they are lying. Your car had the option of 17", 18" and 19" wheels from the factory. Have a tire shop try on the wheels you want and check for brake clearance.

The Titanium was sold with 18" wheels. I suggest you look on Craig's List for a used set of factory wheels.
